Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation has been active in achieving the goals and objectives since its establishment and is gradually expanding itself.

1. TUWJF organized a one-day training camp for Urdu Journalists, of Districts of Telangana, at Salar Jung Museum Auditorium, Hyderabad on 6th November 2016 which was inaugurated by Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, former [the then] Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting (former Vice President of India). A medical health camp was organized for Urdu journalists in Hyderabad. 

2. Three awards were launched in memory of Urdu journalists, late Mr. Anwar Adeeb, late Mr. Faiz Mohammad Asghar, and late Mr. Tabsum Faridi, which consists of ten thousand rupees in cash, a thank-you note, a shawl and a memento. The award is mainly to encourage the Urdu journalists of districts by giving priority to the journalists of the districts, and to acknowledge their long-standing services in journalism.

3. Meet the Press was organized in Hyderabad on various topics.

4. Training classes were held in Nizamabad and Sangaredy districts.

5. On the completion of two hundred years of Urdu journalism, a 'Meet with a Journalist' program was organized in Hyderabad. Also, journalists were felicitated in Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, and Nirmal districts.

6. Federation provided full and active support in organizing a two-day Urdu Journalists Training Program by Telangana Media Academy in Hyderabad.

7. Apart from conducting Medical Health Camp and All India Mushaira in Karimnagar, All India Mushairas were also organized in Nirmal and Jagtial.

8. Financial assistance was provided to a few ailing journalists, and the families of journalists who have lost their lives while on duty.

Barrister Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi - MP, Mr. Muhammad Mahmood Ali - Minister of Home Affairs, Mr. T. Harish Rao - Minister of Health, Mr. Gangula Kamlakar - Minister of Civil Supplies, Ms. K. Kavita - MLC, Mr. Kishan Reddy - Union Minister, Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy - Member of Parliament and former President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, A. Revanth Reddy - Member of Parliament and President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka - Leader of Opposition in Telangana Legislative Assembly, Muhammad Ali Shabbir - former Minister, other Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council, former ministers, senior officials including Anjani Kumar (the then Hyderabad Police Commissioner), Navin Mittal - Commissioner Information and Public Relations Department, Syed Umar Jaleel - Secretary Minority Welfare Department, editors and senior journalists of various newspapers and television channels and other dignitaries have participated.

The Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation has demanded amendment of G.O. # 239 for issuance of accreditation card to Urdu journalists at Mandal level on par with the Telugu journalists, and TUWJF made representation with K. T. Rama Rao - Minister for Municipal Administration, Mr. T. Harish Rao - Minister for Finance, Mr. Muhammad Mehmood Ali - Minister for Home Affairs, Chief Minister's Office, Mr. Arvind Kumar - Commissioner for Information and Public Relations, and Ms. K. Kavita - MLC to officially include Urdu journalist in district and state level accreditation card committees. 

On the representation to Barrister Asaduddin Owaisi – MP, Hyderabad, he sent a letter to the Chief Minister and Commissioner for Information and Public Relations to take immediate action in this regard. Despite the indifferent attitude of the government on this issue, the federation continues to make representation regularly. The Federation has highlighted the injustice done to Urdu journalists through various programs and platforms. The Federation represented to Mr. Arvind Kumar - Commissioner for Information and Public Relations on the issues of accreditation card to small newspapers, issuance of advertisements, and new classification of press and media houses. 

Federation drew attention to the effective implementation of the Government's Health Scheme (Health Card) for journalists while meeting the Minister of Health. A representation has been made to Education Minister Ms. Sabita Indira Reddy demanding a G.O. for free education to children of journalists in private and corporate schools besides representation for allotment of double bedroom houses/plots to Urdu journalists in the districts.

Telangana Urdu Working Journalists’ Federation has established its district units in 16 districts including Mehboobnagar, Nagar Kurnool, Winaparthi, Gadwal, Nizamabad, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Kamareddy, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Jangaon, Jagatial, K.B. Asifabad. , Mancharial, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Waqarabad. It is expected to form district units in 04 more districts in the month of February. The federation is moving slowly but steadily and invites all Urdu journalists of the state to join it. It is hoped that the support of Urdu journalists will continue in the future as well.
